BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute and submit two Grant applications seeking $544,277 in Federal funds to the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security under the State Homeland Security Grant Program, for the Division of Police, to purchase vehicles and assorted equipment for the Hazardous Devices Unit and to support training courses offered by the Air Support Unit, and authorizing the Mayor to provide any additional information requested in connection with these Grant applications.
Section 2 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to accept these Grants, if awarded, the acceptance of which does not obligate the Urban County Government to the expenditure of funds.
Section 3 -- That subject to the provisions of Section 7-48 of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Code of Ordinances, the Mayor is hereby authorized, in her discretion as Chief Executive Officer of the Urban County Government, to transfer the unencumbered balance of any operating or capital account appropriation to another operating or capital account appropriation within the Grant Budget previously established for this Grant.
Section 4 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
