Summary
Authorization to accept award in the amount of $95,000 from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund for support of the Local Food Coordinator Project in the Mayor’s Office-FY 2016-2017. The Local Food Coordinator is an advocate for policies, broker to connect local producers with institutional markets, supports projects that lead to increased markets for local farm products, and expanding efforts to include surrounding counties. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to accept a grant from the Kentucky Agricultural Board, which Grant funds are in the amount of $95,000.00 for FY 2016 and 2017 Commonwealth of Kentucky funds, are for support of the Local Food Coordinator Project, and the acceptance of which does not obligate the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government for the expenditure of funds.
Section 2 - That subject to the provisions of Ordinance No. 22-79, the Mayor is hereby authorized, in his discretion as Chief Executive Officer of the Urban County Government, to transfer the unencumbered balance of any operating or capital account ap-propriation to another operating or capital account appropriation within the Grant budget previously established for this Grant.
Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
