Authorization to accept award in the amount of $424,000 from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for fiber optic cable installation for improvements to traffic signal system network along Man o' War Boulevard from Nicholasville Road (U.S. 27) westward to Fort Harrods Drive, approximately 4.5 miles and along Clays Mill Road from Twain Ridge Road to Keithshire Way, approximately 1.2 miles. Required matching funds of 20% ($106,000) will come from the Division of Traffic Engineering’s FY 2016 general fund Budget. Budget amendments are in the process. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to accept a grant from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which Grant funds are in the amount of $424,000.00 Federal funds, are for fiber optic cable installation, and the acceptance of which obligates the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government for the expenditure of $106,000.00 as a local match.
Section 2 - That subject to the provisions of Ordinance No. 22-79, the Mayor is hereby authorized, in his discretion as Chief Executive Officer of the Urban County Government, to transfer the unencumbered balance of any operating or capital account ap-propriation to another operating or capital account appropriation within the Grant Budget previously established for this Grant.
Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
