Body

WHEREAS, the Urban County Government's EcoART program promotes environmental education and outreach; and

WHEREAS, the EcoArt program has been modified to focus on larger projects with high visibility and deep community impact; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works has budgeted funds to conduct the EcoART program; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works has selected LexArts to administer the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process to solicit, review, and select suitable projects for funding through the EcoART program;

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

      Section 1 - That the Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works be and hereby is authorized to provide up to $100,000 in funding for appropriate EcoARTS projects during Fiscal Year 2014.

      Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sum of $100,000, be and hereby is approved for payment from account # 1115 - 313201 - 78112 for qualified EcoARTS projects.

      Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
