This is a request to submit application to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security under the 2013 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, requesting federal funds in the amount of $900,000 for replacement of a front line fire engine and to replace 12 lead automated external defibrillators.  A local match of $100,000 (10%) is required.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
      Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute and submit the Grant Application, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and to provide any additional information requested in connection with this Grant Application, which Grant funds are in the amount of $900,000.00 Federal funds, and are for replacement of a fire engine and twelve (12) lead automated external defibrillators.
      Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
