BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute and submit an application to the U.S. Department of Transportation, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and to provide any additional information requested in connection with this Grant Application, and to accept this Grant if awarded, which is estimated to total up to $400,000.00 in Federal funds under the Safe Streets and Roads for All Grants Program, for planning and demonstration activities related to the Safe Routes to School pilot initiative, the acceptance of which obligates the Urban County Government to the expenditure of up to $100,000.00 as a local match.

Section 2 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute any necessary documents, or amendments thereto, related to this Grant.

Section 3 - That subject to the provisions of Section 7-48 of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Code of Ordinances, the Mayor is hereby authorized, in her discretion as Chief Executive Officer of the Urban County Government, to transfer the unencumbered balance of any operating or capital account appropriation to another operating or capital account appropriation within the Grant Budget established for this Grant.

Section 4 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
