Summary
Authorization to amend the Classified Civil Service and sworn authorized strength by creating and abolishing positions, renaming a div. and reorganizing a div. as approved in the FY 2024 Budget process within the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, to become effective July 1, 2023. WHEREAS, Section 6.12 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to “consolidate, divide, and otherwise restructure the organization of all dept.s, offices and div.s” covered by Article 6 of the Charter; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that effective and efficient operation of government will occur by renaming the Division of Central Purchasing as the Division of Procurement and reclassifying the incumbents in that div.; and
WHEREAS, certain other personnel changes are appropriate based upon the recently enacted FY2024 Budget of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
