Summary
Authorization to accept the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ). This memorandum allows LPD possession of seized vehicles or equipment. We are requesting authorization to accept seized vehicle (2015 Chevrolet Impala LTZ, VIN # 2G1165S38F9285321). This vehicle will be utilized for law enforcement purposes only and will be assigned to a specific investigator, ensuring the proper and timely maintenance, and utilization for a minimum of two years after assignment. The funding source for the federal share and potential storage fees, as well as all liens against this vehicle will come from the Equitable Sharing Funds received by the LPD from the USDOJ fund. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with the U.S. Department of Justice, for acceptance of seized vehicle (2015 Chevrolet Impala LTZ, VIN # 2G1165S38F9285321).
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
