Summary
Authorization to execute a Statewide Emergency Management Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement with each local entity in the Commonwealth of Ky. for mutual aid and assistance. This will provide a smooth transition and a formalized process to follow if assistance is requested or received by Lexington Fayette Urban County Government. Also, if we request assistance or receive assistance and this pact has been signed then the reimbursement for that assistance is eligible to be paid for by FEMA if there is a Presidential disaster declaration. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Statewide Emergency Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with each local entity in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, for provision of mutual aid and assistance in the event of an emergency, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
