Title: A Resolution authorizing and directing the administration of the Urban County Government to perform or undertake the following with respect to the negotiations for a new Government Center/ City Hall, in addition to the regularly required negotiation progress updates to the Urban County Council required by Resolution No. 548-2018: (a) the solicitation for the services of a professional negotiator with experience in these types of negotiations and transactions, the hiring of whom or which is subject to final approval of the Urban County Council, and (b) the development of a plan for the future use of the existing government buildings that would be impacted by a relocation. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That in order to ensure that any final lease-to-own or other Agreement(s) related to the new Government Center/ City Hall ultimately presented to the Urban County Council for approval, as authorized and directed by Resolution No. 548-2018, adequately address significant issues of public concern, the administration of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government be and hereby is authorized and directed to perform or undertake the following in addition the regularly required negotiation progress updates to the Urban County Council: (a) the solicitation for the services of a professional negotiator with experience in these types of negotiations and transactions, the hiring of whom or which is subject to final approval of the Urban County Council, and (b) the development of a plan for the future use of the existing government buildings that would be impacted by a relocation, which would result in their disposition or use being established prior to the Urban County Government relocating to the new Government Center/City Hall.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
