A Resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the Urban County Government, to execute an Agreement with the United States Dept. of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, for participation in the Tactical Diversion Squad. [Div. of Police, Barnard]

Summary

Authorization to execute the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Tactical Diversion Squad Agreement.  The term of this Agreement shall be from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018. The Tactical Diversion Squad Agreement allows for one (1) Lexington Police Department Officer to be assigned to the Tactical Diversion Squad for a period of not less than two years. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, for participation in the Tactical Diversion Squad.

                     Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
