Summary
Authorization to Grant easements to Kentucky Utilities (KU) Company for the expansion of the existing electrical substation located on LFUCG property at the West Hickman WWTP and for the relocation of overhead power transmission infrastructure also located on LFUCG property. DWQ recommends that these easements be Granted in exchange for "no capital cost" power upgrades at the substation to meet additional demand created by DWQ wet weather storage tank/new headworks at the West Hickman facility. If approved; KU will also compensate LFUCG in the amount of $10,478.00 to mitigate downstream Stormwater management issues created by the increased impervious area of the expanded substation. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute a Purchase Agreement, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and all other documents necessary to Grant substation and transmission line easements to Kentucky Utilities Company for the sum of $10,478.00.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
