Summary
Authorization to execute an Agreement with the Department of the US Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, for the provision of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance/Tax Counseling for the Elderly (VITA/TCE) program. This program provides free tax preparation and filing for low to moderate income citizens in Fayette County. The United Way of the Bluegrass is the statewide administrator of the VITA/TCE program. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance/Tax Counseling for the Elderly (VITA/CTE) Partner Sponsor Agreement and an Internal Revenue Service Civil Rights Assurance, which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, for the VITA/CTE Program at the Black and Williams Neighborhood Center, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
