Summary
Authorization to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Commonwealth of Kentucky allowing use of rights-of-way within Lexington-Fayette County for the KentuckyWired middle mile broadband network.
This MOU is required to allow the Commonwealth to begin their build-out of the KentuckyWired project in Lexington. The network will ultimately provide broadband access to every county in Kentucky. There is no budgetary impact. (L1221-15)(Paulsen)

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, permitting use of the rights-of-way within Lexington-Fayette County, for construction of the KentuckyWired Middle Mile Broadband Network, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
